Lynn Tarnoff

Lynn Tarnoff is director emerita of Visual Arts and Wellness Programs at UW Madison Continuing Studies. She has administered education, health, community planning and community art development programs in Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Michigan and Wisconsin.  She has a Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration from Central Michigan University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from St. Joseph College.

Lynn is convinced that creative expression and creative problem solving help us appreciate and improve our surroundings by creating visually, thought provoking images that inspire the viewer to take part in the journey. It is the intent of the artist to respond to her own inner voice and to that of the world around her. She challenges us to enter her world of flora, fauna and fantasy.

Her images reflect not only what is seen, but what is unseen and part of the soul.

“We are not machines, designed and made to fulfill only a series of preordained conformists tasks, but creative creatures, capable of the most astonishing new adventures. Much, if not most, of our motivation is irrational and unpredictable events even to ourselves, so that, when we take hold of any substance to make our imprint upon it, the results may be wholly unexpected.”                     John Burton
